Submission of Citizenship Application

To obtain citizenship of the Republic of Armenia, a legally capable person aged 18 or older, who is not an RA citizen and resides in a foreign country or legally resides in the Republic of Armenia, must register in the system and submit an application. When filling out the application online, depending on the selected basis for acquiring citizenship, the following documents must be attached:

I am of Armenian nationality

I have permanently resided in the Republic of Armenia for the past 3 years in accordance with the law

I have been in a registered marriage with a citizen of the Republic of Armenia during the past 2 years, and have resided in the RA for at least 365 days on legal grounds during that period

I have a child or parent who is a citizen of the Republic of Armenia

After January 1, 1995, I renounced the citizenship of the Republic of Armenia based on my own application

I have refugee status in the Republic of Armenia

I am a stateless person

My parents (or one of them) previously held citizenship of the Republic of Armenia, and I have resided in RA during the last year in accordance with the law

Important to Know

All foreign-language documents must be accompanied by a certified Armenian translation, validated by apostille or consular legalization․
After uploading all required documents and entering the necessary information based on the selected ground, the state duty must be paid online or a payment receipt should be attached.
In case of bank transfer, payment must be made to account number 900005160529 (100).
After the online Application (Petition) is approved, the originals of all attached scanned documents must be submitted to the Migration and Citizenship Service or to an RA consulate abroad, after selecting a date and time for the visit.
A person who is not ethnically Armenian must pass a test on the RA Constitution and Armenian language when applying for citizenship.
