How to become a citizen of the Republic of Armenia or renounce your citizenship ?

1. 
   Step 1

   Log into the system

   Citizens of the Republic of Armenia can register and log in only through strong identification, while foreign citizens can choose to use strong identification if they have a personal number (ID), or register with a personal email address.

2. 
   Step 2

   Service type selection

   • Application for granting RA citizenship
   • Application for terminating RA citizenship
   • Application for terminating RA citizenship of a minor
   • Application for granting RA citizenship to an incapacitated person

   Step 3

   Uploading documents and photos into the system

   According to the selected service type, you must fill out the questionnaire, attach the required documents, and then pay the state fee online or via bank transfer, attaching the payment receipt. All documents must be scanned from the originals.

4. 
   Step 4

   Appointment scheduling

   After the preliminary application is approved, you must select the date and time of your visit.

5. 
   Step 5

   Submission of original documents

   Upon receiving the notification of citizenship application approval, the applicant visits the Migration and Citizenship Office or the embassy/consulate on the appointed date and time, takes the oath ceremony and signs the oath text, after which the process is completed.

6. 

   Application approval / rejection

   • Upon receiving the notification of citizenship application approval, the applicant visits the Migration and Citizenship Office or the embassy/consulate on the appointed date and time, takes the oath ceremony and signs the oath text, after which the process is completed.

   • If the application for termination of citizenship is approved, the passport is declared invalid, and the process is completed.

   • In case of application rejection, the citizen receives a notification.
